Our School - Independent Public School

Dawson Park Primary School was opened in 1982. The school is set in a beautiful bush setting and offers a strong academic and pastoral environment for all students. Our learning community currently has over 500 students and this is expected to grow in coming years with housing developments taking place within the school's intake area. Our dedicated and professional team strive to ensure the best learning outcomes for all our students.

In our learning community parents are vital partners in the education of their child. Parents of Dawson Park students are supportive and work collaboratively with us. Our School Board is an active and knowledgeable group who represents the views of our parents and community. Parents also provide valuable help and support through the P & C in the operation of the canteen and uniform shop. The P&C support the school financially by fundraising for resources that are vital for our teaching programs.

Dawson Park has a strong pastoral care program that focuses on every child and we are supported by our School Chaplain and School Psychologist who are both with us twice a week. A number of local organisations and personalities work in partnership with us to enhance our various programs. Bendigo Bank has generously provided the school with funding to improve our ICT infrastructure. The Breakfast Club operates twice weekly and is managed by volunteers from Forrestfield - High Wycombe Retirees WA and is the longest running breakfast program in a WA school, having started in 2001.

At Dawson Park we follow an Explicit Teaching model and we have educational experts working shoulder to shoulder with us. We provide a positive approach to learning and to achieving our personal best and encourage each other in a safe and respectful environment.

We provide a supportive community for children to become independent learners who value themselves and others whilst academically achieving their personal best.

At the bottom of this page you will find a link to our 2021 - 2023 Business Plan. This plan outlines the next three years of our school's journey and clearly ariculates the direction in which we are heading.
